About Comstock's Principal- Dr. McCowan
Dr. Alicia McCowan is an exemplary educator and a visionary leader who has dedicated her life to transforming the landscape of education. She has worked in education for her entire career- from teacher to principal primarily in Dallas ISD. Through leadership experiences ranging from elementary, middle, and high school she has had the opportunity to grow students and faculty to reach their potential. Even with these amazing experiences, she is always a teacher at heart. She attended Texas A&M University where she received her bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies, received her Master's in Education Administration at Sam Houston State University, and culminated her studies with a doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas.
Dr. McCowan is blessed to be the mother of three amazing children and is married to the love of her life. They are her "WHY" and support her drive and passion for educating children. Her hope for them is the same hope she has for students under her tutelage to see them excel and become productive human beings who have access to opportunities to become whatever they want when they leave high school.
Her passion is developing positive relationships with everyone within the community, working with students as they grow, supporting teachers and staff so they can reach their greatest potential, strengthening a connection between school, and home and fostering a positive school culture.
